Beautifully illustrated history, based on new research...Understandinging Roseville Pottery... includes shapes, factory ads, rarities, and catalog pages not found in any other book!
This new book includes any otherwise undocumented examples
of Early
Carnelian (above left) and Early Velmoss (above right),
plus
the entire July 1916 Price List from which their shape numbers were
obtained
(reprinted as Appendix A).
Many Donatello shapes are not shown in the factory pages. Those shown here (above left) were designed by Frank Ferrell--not Harry Rhead. They were made during the 1920s! The controversial Cherub Cameo line (above right)
appears
to date to ca. 1916-1920. It may have been designed by Weller associate
Rudolf Loerber--not previously linked to Roseville!
